Parent Essentials
Everything Kidsville families need in one place: health and well-being policies, our menu and the parent handbook for your center.

Health & Well-being
Keeping children healthy and safe comes first. Here's an overview of our key policies; full policies are in the parent handbook for your center.

Illness Policy Overview
Our illness practices follow Halton Public Health, Toronto Public Health and Canadian Paediatric Society guidance. Children should stay home if they can't take part in all indoor and outdoor activities, or need medication just to feel well.
- Fever of 38°C / 100.4°F or higher: return once fever-free for 24 hours and eating normally.
- Vomiting or diarrhea: return once symptom-free for 48 hours.
- Undiagnosed rash: a doctor's note is needed to return.
If your child becomes unwell at the center, we'll call you to pick them up.
Immunization Policy Overview
Ontario requires up-to-date immunization records for every child in licensed care. Please provide proof of immunization at enrolment and with every update. Families who choose not to immunize may file a medical exemption, or a non-medical exemption signed by a commissioner of oaths. During a disease outbreak, children without immunization may need to stay home.
Medication Policy Overview
We administer emergency, life-saving medication such as epinephrine and asthma inhalers, and medication listed in your child's individual emergency plan. All medication must be in its original pharmacy-labelled container, with a signed consent form completed in Kindertales. Medication is stored securely, out of children's reach.
Anaphylaxis & Allergy Policy Overview
All Kidsville centers are nut-free and allergy-aware: food from home isn't permitted, and children never share food. Families of children with allergies complete an individual emergency plan with the center supervisor. If your child has an epinephrine auto-injector, we ask for two: one for the classroom and one for the office.
Accident & Emergency Policy Overview
Children receive immediate care for any accident, and every staff member holds First Aid and Level C CPR. Minor incidents are documented and shared with you the same day through Kindertales; serious occurrences are reported to you immediately and to the Ministry of Education. We hold fire and emergency drills every month, and each center has a designated off-site evacuation location.
Our Commitment to Inclusive Child Care
Kidsville welcomes children of all abilities. We work with community partners such as inclusion and special-needs resource services to support every child's full participation, and create individualized plans for children with medical or developmental needs together with families.
Confidentiality & Privacy
We collect only the information needed to care for your child and keep it confidential. Parents may access their child's records at any time. We share photos on social media only with blurred faces, unless you have given written consent. Please don't post photos of other children without their parents' consent.
